We are a friendly group of ladies and our section is open to all lady members of Immingham Golf Club. We are always looking for new members whatever their ability and will give advice and help to them as required. The object of the Ladies section is to provide a comprehensive golf calendar for the enjoyment of its members no matter what their golfing abilities. The ultimate aim is to ensure that all members enjoy their involvement with us both socially and competitively. The section has its own committee comprising of the Captain, Secretary, Treasurer, Handicap Secretary, Competitions Secretary, and three elected members, Committee meetings are held on a monthly basis.
Our section meets on Thursday and Sunday afternoons when it has preference on the course.
A Thursday monthly medal is held between April and September. A roll up Saturday monthly medal is held between April and August with the medal final being played in September.
On all the other Thursdays we meet on a pay and play basis with the format of the game decided by the Lady Captain.
A small fee of £1.00 is charged for the medals and the friendly games and this money is put towards the cost of the prizes.
Eighteen trophy competitions are held on a Sunday between March and September with tee times from 12:00. Each competition costs £3.00 which goes towards the cost of the prizes that are received yearly on the Ladies presentation night.
Eight friendly matches are played throughout the year (not necessarily on a Thursday). These friendly matches give the ladies a chance to play at other courses, make new friends and enjoy a meal at the end of the match at a very moderate cost.
This year Immingham ladies team will be playing in Division 3 of the Handicap League. Our opponents will be Grimsby, Cleethorpes and Louth. These matches are played on a home and away basis, but not necessarily on a Thursday.
There are three Open competitions held throughout the year:
In August a Ladies AM-AM Stableford.
In December a 15 hole Texas Scramble which includes a Christmas Dinner.
There will be a halfway house at all three of these competitions.
Each year we hold an exchange day with another club in the area. The day includes 18 holes of golf and a meal all at a very reasonable price.
The golf club organises a number of mixed friendly matches throughout the year and if a lady does not have a partner there is always a gentleman in the same position who will gladly pair up for the day. These days are very enjoyable and give everyone a chance to play at other courses, make new friends and enjoy a meal.
In October a Charity Day is organised with the Senior Section and all proceeds go to a charity chosen by the Lady Captain.
In October the Ladies and Senior sections hold a joint Presentation Night when all the competition results for the year are announced and the trophies presented. This night includes a complementary buffet and a quiz, for those wishing to participate. The night is open to all members and their partners.
At the end of each year a nine hole fun competition is held (optional), followed by a traditional Christmas lunch. This is usually held on a Saturday.
